Welcome to the fourth edition of our newsletter highlighting innovation and frontier technologies around the globe. This issue starts with a case study on opportunity mapping for disaster risk reduction, probably the greatest ecosystem-based solutions for managing and reducing disaster risk. Then we introduces our new custom map composer feature in MapX, covers some news around a newly released tech report by UN calls for digital cooperation, the 10th Equator Prize winners, an interactive forest map of deforestation by Airbus, and an interactive map of wildfires in Russia by Greenpeace’s Global Mapping Hub. In the Scientific Corner, we brought to your attention the cooperation between four scientific institutions to foster the use of Earth Observation data for environmental monitoring in Switzerland. Lastly, we listed a free webinar on Women’s Participation and Voice in Mining and two events for mappers in Heidelberg in late September.
