Partnership Framework for Using Spatial Data to Inform National Biodiversity Planning and Reporting

Objectives

MapX will work with UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development to develop a customized spatial analysis support tool to support conservation decision-making across the globe. The purpose of this collaboration is to develop a platform that allows national teams that are engaged in biodiversity and sustainable development planning and reporting make evidence-based decisions from the best available spatial data.

The specific objectives of the collaboration are to:

1. Compile the global spatial data layers from existing sources into a single, compatible database;
2. Construct an accessible online tool that allows policy makers to access to all global data layers and additional layers on a regional or per-country basis, as well as user-friendly functions;
3. Improve the existing MapX functions and tailor them to the objectives of this partnership.
