Nigeria: support to the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP)
This project is part of a broader project conducted by UNEP-Crisis Management Branch (CMB) in Nigeria in the frame of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
MapX is contributing to Output 2 of HYPREP: “Prioritization, implementation and monitoring of clean-up activities in Ogoniland by HYPREP staff is supported by the use of GIS data”. MapX support consists in offering a geospatial data sharing platform, centralizing key geospatial data sets in this platform, offering trusted environmental data sources and interfaces for data visualization and communication such as dashboards and story maps, and by providing related cloud-based services. The MapX team is also providing specialized in-depth training and capacity building of HYPREP GIS staff and mentoring and counseling on GIS matters to support improvement of information management practices in HYPREP.
